Every Patient, Every Day Necessities?

Every patient, every day most likely needs adrenal support.  Opti-Adrenal is that whole food, predigested, synergistic nutritional support for stress,
de-stressing, healing and repair.

Everyone--absolutely everyone--is overworking their adrenal glands in one way or another. Life is affecting our adrenals from all angles. The most common and impactful stressors on the adrenal glands are:

  • Chronic Stress
  • Poor Diet
  • Prescription Medications
  • Related Health Conditions

Chronic Stress comes from any and all of the Six interferences: Structural, Nutritional, Emotional, Electromagnetic, Allergies/Sensitivities and Toxins.  We must identify and correct with the Six Steps to Wellness!

Let me say it again in a different way, it’s becoming common knowledge that CHRONIC STRESS OVERLOADS THE ADRENAL GLANDS. WE ALL HAVE CHRONIC STRESS!  Stress takes a toll on the adrenals by overworking them to constantly release the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline because we are constantly stuck in the fight-or-flight-or-freeze mode. This burns through nutrients your body needs for other functions and can yield multiple symptomatic expressions:

  1. Dizzy if you raise too fast
  2. Headaches
  3. Insomnia (either trouble going to sleep or staying asleep.)
  4. Weight gain and difficulty losing weight
  5. Anxious feelings and depression
  6. Rapid shifts to anger or loss of emotional control
  7. Food cravings and especially for carbs; blood sugar irregularities
  8. Marked fatigue in the afternoon
  9. Compromised immune system
  10. Digestive complaints
  11. Hormone imbalances
  12. Brain fog
  13. Dark circles under the eyes
  14. Joint pain after exercising (adrenal stretch mechanism)
  15. Recurring subluxations and extremity injuries that do not heal
  16. Hypertension or Hypotension

The long-term activation of the stress-response and the overexposure to cortisol and other stress hormones, disrupts almost all your body's processes. An example is the body cannot have proper conversion of T4, (which acts like wood) to T3, (which acts like fire) to the body.  Many thyroid dysfunctions have an adrenal component and must be treated at the same time.  For instance, evaluate the need for Opti-Adrenal and Opti-Thyroid.

Also, most Americans are deficient of iodine, according to the book: Iodine, You Can’t Live Without It, by David Brownstein.  Opti-Iodine can be the balanced iodine needed, at 12.5mg of both iodide and iodine.

Poor Diet
Every part of your body is affected by your diet, for better or worse. As food quality declines across the globe, incidences of adrenal health issues rise. The cruel irony here is that adrenal insufficiency and fatigue both trigger cravings for foods most detrimental to your adrenals and overall health.  These include sugar-packed and white flour-based foods, processed oils, fried foods, processed foods (just about anything packaged in a box or wrapper) and excessive caffeine intake all tax the adrenals.  These toxic foods and adrenal dysfunction deprive the body of nutrients needed to keep  robust and functioning optimally.

Prescription Medications
Drugs such as prednisone, hydrocortisone, and dexamethasone try to mimic the good effect of natural substances produced by the adrenal glands. They are used to treat a variety of conditions including many inflammatory diseases such as asthma and some forms of arthritis.  When people are treated with these drugs, the production of adrenal hormones decreases because of effects on the pituitary, the master gland that controls the adrenals.  When the drugs are stopped or decreased quickly, the adrenal glands may not begin making their own hormones fast enough to meet the body's needs, and symptoms of adrenal insufficiency can spiral.

Key Adrenal-Restoring Nutrients in Therapeutic Doses
Ingredients: Adrenal 25mg, Thymus 70mg, Spleen 20mg, Parotid 50mg, Vitamin C 225mg, Vitamin B2 15mg, Vitamin B6 10mg, Niacinamide 15mg, Pantothenic Acid 105mg, Grape Seed Extract 1mg, Lemon Bioflavonoids 225mg, L-Tyrosine 175mg, Magnesium Citrate 45mg, Zinc Chelate 5mg, Chromium Chelate 50mcg, Potassium Chelate 2mg, Chlorella 50mg, Rhodiola rosea-root.

Supportive Function:  Pre-digested Glandulars, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients (adaptogens) that all work together synergistically.

Clinical Applications/Research: Glandulars:  Hans Selye reports that during stress the adrenals first hypertrophy and then atrophy, the stomach ulcerates and the spleen and thymus atrophy.  Parotid glandular aids in heavy metal detoxification.  Opti-Adrenal have pre-digested glandulars that help reverse damage and repair all areas of this General Adaptation Syndrome.

Vitamin C: Vitamin C is found in the largest concentration in the adrenal gland. Vitamin C maintains promotes thymic hormone secretion, acts as an antioxidant, aids in the metabolism of tyrosine, folic acid and tryptophan, stimulates adrenal function, aids in thyroid hormone production and cholesterol metabolism, acts as a detoxifier of certain metals and drugs, recycles other hydrogen donors such as vitamin E, and aids in phagocytosis (digestion of damaged, dead or foreign cells).

B vitamins: The B vitamins are also essential for the proper functioning of the endocrine glands, most notably the adrenals and the thyroid.  The adrenals are nicknamed our “anti-stress glands," and the thyroid is nicknamed the energy gland, as it regulates the basal metabolic rate of almost every cell in the body.  The B vitamins are needed for healthy liver functioning, and the liver is one of the highest concentrated areas of B vitamins.  The organ we know as the skin depends on B vitamins for its healthy appearance.  The B's are also essential for hair, eyes and mouth; a deficiency of the B’s can manifest in patchy scaly skin around the mouth area.  They are also necessary for normal functioning of the nervous system, and essential for maintenance of muscle tone in the gastrointestinal tract.  Vitamin B-5, or pantothenic acid, functions as part of the molecule called Co-enzyme A or CoA.  It is vital for optimal adrenal activity (including increasing production of cortisone and other adrenal hormones), important for healthy skin and nerves, and supports the synthesis of acetylcholine (a neurotransmitter), fatty acids, cholesterol, steroids, and phospholipids.  It is known as one of the main anti-stress vitamins and can be made by the bacterial flora in the intestines.
Tyrosine:  A precursor to epinephrine, norepinephrine and thyroxine.
Zinc and chromium: Necessary for proper pancreas functioning, blood sugar balance and thyroid function.
Chlorella:  Potent binder of heavy metals and aids in detoxification.
Potassium: Essential in proper adrenal functioning and must stay in balance with sodium.
