Magnesium Must be at Optimal Levels for Optimal Health
Magnesium
is one of the most important minerals for all aspects of health. It
participates in over 600 different biochemical reactions in the body. A
major problem is over 80% of the population are deficient and do not get
the minimum amounts of the type of magnesium they need from diet alone.
Even if people are eating magnesium containing foods, the soil lacks
minerals that are needed. Our soil has been depleted year after year. A
second cause of deficiency is many patients any have leaky guts, faulty
gut flora or are taking minerals that are poorly absorbed. OHS products
are from whole food sources and are chelated for much better absorption
and utilization.
Magnesium is a key mineral that the body uses to support healthy
function throughout human anatomy and physiology. It helps maintain
brain and heart function. Magnesium plays an important role in relaying
signals between your brain and body. The correct magnesium level allows
normal muscle function and relaxation. Research indicates it may have
benefits in lowering blood sugar. Low magnesium levels have been linked
to many negative health outcomes, including weakness, depression, high
blood pressure and heart disease.
Dr Marc Haris has listed the most important substances in order of
importance to sustain life are Oxygen, Water and then Magnesium.
Interestingly, Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in your
body.
It acts as the gatekeeper for the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors,
which are found on your nerve cells and aid brain development, memory,
and learning. In healthy adults, magnesium sits inside the NMDA
receptors, preventing them from being triggered by weak signals that may
stimulate your nerve cells unnecessarily.
When your magnesium levels are low, fewer NMDA receptors are blocked.
This means they are prone to being stimulated more often than necessary.
This kind of overstimulation can kill nerve cells and may cause brain
damage. In summary, Magnesium acts as the gatekeeper for NMDA receptors,
which participate in healthy brain development, memory, and learning.
It prevents nerve cells from being overstimulated, which can kill them
and may cause brain damage.
Magnesium promotes healthy stress and relaxation responses. It is
extremely important for mental and neurological health. Magnesium
supplementation has been shown to promote a healthy stress response and
neurotransmitter balance. It also promotes relaxation by increasing
GABA, the calming neurotransmitter.
Dr Harris will go over all of his formulated products, including Essential Magnesium at Homecoming 2024.
