One
of the year's speakers, on specific spinal/extremity adjusting and
taping is Dr Dave Smaldone. He was a trainer before he became a
Chiropractor and is a master at helping those that have decreased their
performance or been disabled from injury. This week's article and this week’s webinar will be a glimpse into Kinesiotaping and how to use it in practice.
Kinesiotaping
can be a wonderful adjunct to any chiropractic or physical treatment
practice. You sometimes "hear mixed reviews" from the scientific
community on taping. However, if you have even used it for one day in
your practice, you know immediately it is a crucial piece of the health
puzzle Dr. Brimhall talks about. Dr Smaldone says I will be discussing
in this week’s webinar and at Homecoming 2019, astounding case studies,
taping protocols, and essentials you will need. This will allow you to
implement an effective tool in your practice, which your patients will
love and will generate income.
Through
the 21 years of taping, along with adjusting techniques, I have learned
it can be used for many conditions and on many different types of
patients.
1. We use it to increase proprioception in the patient's joints when injured.
2. Decrease swelling and edema post injury.
3. Decrease pain at the location of origin.
4. Increase and decrease ROM depending on the application.
5. Provide decreased gravitation strain on limbs that are injured.
We can get these results while the patient is comfortable and the effects last for days.
We have dozens of patients who come in just to get taped before an
event, working out, and to help with post-surgical complications.
Patients who have problems for 20+ years find themselves with partial or
complete resolution of their pain and discomfort while taped.
For
the 21 years I have been kinesiotaping, I have tried dozens of
different tapes. Here I will just name a few: Kinesiotape, Spider Tape,
KT tape and Rock Tape. I have found through taping thousands of people,
they all work but some are better for specific applications. I will discuss this with you in the webinar and Homecoming. Many
tape applications last 5 days under most conditions. The ion technology
seems to make an enormous difference in outcomes of some conditions.
This is just the beginning of the information Dr Smaldone will discuss
in the webinar and demonstrate in the hands-on workshop in Arizona
January 4-6, 2019. He will be teaching exactly how, where and when to
tape. Specific nutrition can be used to promote healing at a better
rate. Consider Opti-Adrenal, Opti-MagnaStem, Muscle Rx and Optimal Fruits and Veggies from
OHS (800-890-4547) to become more effective. You can also laser the
area of injury right through the tape. This too allows for greater
stability while healing.
I
cannot think what could be more pertinent in any doctor’s schedule, or
life that could be more important, or productive than attending
Homecoming with us the first week of January.
