Sugar Is the Enemy of Immunity and the Microbiome,
With Plant Based Diet the Hero
At Super Seminar in August 2023, we will discuss Sugar, Insulin, and all
of the positive/negative connotations of diet in health and dis-ease.
The positive considerations of diet and nutrition will be discussed for
up or down-regulation of immunity affected greatly by the microbiome.
Science demonstrates that the microbiota promotes and supports all
aspects of the immune system and overall health. Of course, the immune
system must be optimal to protect and create healthy bacteria in the
entire body. There is supposed to be healthy bacteria in the nasal
cavities, mouth, on the skin and of course in the GI tract, etc.
The microbiota is everywhere in the entire body and plays a fundamental,
comprehensive, and an intricate role in the immune system. Sugar has a
negative effect in all aspects of having a healthy microbiota. In
contrast vegetables and small amounts of fruits support a heathy host
immune system, which protects and promotes a symbiotic relationship with
the microbiota. In health and wellness, we must support the good
bacteria and use natural immune support instead of killing of the good
with the bad bacteria when possible. The book Fiber Fueled demonstrates
everything we eat determines and creates non inflammatory bacteria when
eating vegetables and inflammatory probiotics when eating meats and
dairy. Balance is the key.
The body must be able to tell the difference between good and bad
bacteria. This requires a constant sensing of the microbiome. There are
feedback loops between innate/natural and adaptive forces. There is
constant evaluation of the immune system/microbiome and its mirids of
components by these natural and adaptive counterparts. Maintenance of
this dialogue requires total body communication and balancing when and
where necessary. Therefore, the “Six Steps to Wellness” is a major asset
in evaluation and treatment.
The Six Steps evaluate and detect dysfunctions and assist the body’s
innate abilities to allow proper function. We evaluate and implement
balancing steps when and where necessary with diet, emotional
distressing, proper nutrition, and supplementation.
The Six Steps to Wellness are:
-
Structure (spinal, extremity, craniosacral, visceral, circulation, meridians, lymphatics etc.)
-
Electromagnetics both external and internal
-
Emotions and Stress Reduction
-
Nutritional evaluation and balancing (the microbiome included)
-
Evaluation and treatment of allergies and sensitivities
-
Detoxification in many forms
Immunity and the Microbiome Considerations to improve function:
1. Support of the epithelial cells by the microbiota.
2. Tonic control of hematopoiesis and innate immunity by the microbiota.
3. Non-classical lymphocyte interaction with the microbiota.
4. Adaptive immunity is created though a healthy microbiota.
5. Balance of immune reactivity to the microbiota.
6. Induction of regulatory responses by the microbiota.
7. Nutritional support, exercise and emotional balancing are all important.
70-80% of the human immune system is in the gut. We need to understand
and support the homeostatic mechanisms, utilizing the best probiotic
strains as well as utilizing proper prebiotics to support their growth
and resistance. Sugar intake has a negative on health and wellness.
We must not kill off these important synergistic components to health
and homeostasis. Through the Six Steps we can support each aspect
through evaluation and supportive therapy.
Consider Optimal Flora Plus for a whole spectrum microbiome nutraceutical.
For natural immune support consider Opti-Immune VRL and Essential
Protect. These have been the front line of treatment for many Covid
Infected patients these past few years for incredible success.
